🩺 Neurodivergent-Friendly Healthcare
Medical care can be harder to access when sensory needs, communication differences, executive functioning, anxiety, or unfamiliar environments aren’t taken into account. These South Florida resources offer services or accommodations intended to make healthcare more accessible.
Mount Sinai Adult Autism Clinic
A specialized healthcare clinic designed specifically for autistic adults. Services include access to primary care, behavioral medicine, psychiatry, neurology, cardiology, gastroenterology, diagnostic services, care management, and a sensory-friendly environment.
UHealth Autism-Friendly Clinics at Walgreens
Select UHealth Clinic at Walgreens locations have received Autism Friendly designation through UM-NSU CARD. Participating locations incorporate staff training, communication supports, and accommodations intended to improve healthcare experiences for autistic patients.
Jackson Health Autism-Friendly Urgent Care
Autism-friendly urgent care services designed to reduce overwhelm during unexpected medical visits. Supports may include specially trained staff, sensory-friendly exam rooms, sensory kits, and pre-visit planning.
The Neurology Institute – ADHD Care
Neurology services addressing ADHD in both children and adults, with multiple Broward County locations. Services may include assessment, medication management, and treatment planning.
🧠Assessment + Mental Health
Adult ADHD and autism can look different from the stereotypes many of us grew up with. These resources provide assessment, therapy, psychological evaluation, or other mental health services relevant to neurodivergent adults.
Nonlinear Minds Therapy

The Social Cog
Social groups and individualized coaching for independently functioning adults with autism and other developmental or social differences who want to build friendships and community.
South Florida Autism Social Support Group
A community Meetup group for autistic adults age 18+ in South Florida. A formal autism diagnosis is not required to participate.
Palm Beach Autism Club
Community-based programming for autistic adults age 21+, including social activities, recreation, independent living support, prevocational development, and community integration.
South Florida Autism Center
Adult programming for autistic adults age 22+, with opportunities related to recreation, vocational development, independent living skills, and community participation.
✨ Sensory-Friendly Places + Things to Do
Accessibility isn’t always about treatment. Sometimes it’s being able to see a performance, visit a museum, spend time at a library, or try something new without having to push through an overwhelming environment.
Broward Center for the Performing Arts
Sensory-inclusive performances and programming for children and adults with autism, developmental disabilities, and sensory sensitivities. Accommodations may include reduced sound, modified lighting and special effects, a designated quiet room, and preparation resources. Sensory bags are available upon request for all performances at the Broward Center and all of our managed venues.
Palm Beach County Library System
Disability and neurodiversity resources throughout the library system, including accessibility supports, assistive technology, social stories, and sensory-friendly browsing opportunities.
Superblue Miami – Sensory-Friendly Sessions
Superblue periodically offers sensory-friendly sessions with a quieter, modified environment for neurodivergent guests and people with sensory, cognitive, developmental, or physical disabilities.
South Florida Cognitive Care Zone
A regional initiative helping businesses and public spaces become more accessible for people with autism and other cognitive or sensory differences. The IBCCES Accessibility App can help users find certified locations, sensory information, accessibility guides, and sensory-friendly hours.

Work and school environments can create extra friction around executive functioning, sensory needs, communication, accommodations, and expectations. These resources can help with employment, education, advocacy, and accessibility.

Support can also mean help navigating routines, independence, transportation, vocational development, self-advocacy, community participation, household skills, and the practical parts of adult life.
Connections Adult Program
Programming for adults age 23+ with autism and related disabilities, including independent living skills, social development, community integration, vocational competencies, cooking, personal care, housekeeping, banking, recreation, and wellness.
Center for Independent Living of South Florida
Free disability services including independent living skills, peer support, transitions, information and referral, advocacy, and assistive technology.

About This Guide
This resource guide was created by Nonlinear Minds Therapy, a neurodivergent-affirming therapy and adult ADHD, autism, and AuDHD assessment practice serving adults in Fort Lauderdale and throughout Florida.
The goal is simple: make it easier for neurodivergent adults in South Florida to find resources that might actually be useful.
This is an evolving community resource. New organizations, programs, social opportunities, and sensory-friendly places will continue to be added.
